PRISON WARDEN SPOTTED EXCORTING PRISONERS TO DRINK AT LOCAL DRINKING SPOT

Prison inmates at local pub

A prison officer was seen accompanying some prisoners of the Ankaful annex maximum security prison to a drinking spot at Duakro, some 400 meters away from the University of Cape Coast’s second main gate on Saturday afternoon.
The report by Graphic online indicates that the officer whilst on his official duty of supervising the prison inmates, escorted them to a local drinking spot (akpeteshie bar) and watched them gulp down some hard liquor suspected to be local gin (akpeteshie).
The prisoners also helped themselves to cigarettes before retiring to their prison.
It is not yet established whether the officer whose identity is being withheld for now, took part in the binge but the enclosed photos caught him in a compromised situation where he is seen in front of the counter, waiting to be served.
Ghana’s laws frown on security officers conspicuously seen drinking at public places and also abhors prisoners being served or induced to take alcohol.
