On last week's episode, Mizz Titi, Runner up of the Vodafone Icons Street Edition was interviewed where she wowed us with her musical talents and her rise to fame.

Mizz Titi
We also discussed one serious canker and the topic was GRADUATE YOUTH UNEMPLOYMENT killer topic chalee...who is to blame with this one? as for me if you ask me you might not get any sensible input but here is what some of the contributors to the show had to say!
P.S no picture attached to comment means you have no current dp.

Rashida: I blame the youth because,we look up to white collar jobs too much There are also other occupations which are not necessarily taught in class but good money can be made out if it. They say 'heaven helps those who help themselves' If you start something on your own with the little you have, surely someone would find it worth investing in it, You just have to be serious with it.

Ben: Everyone is to be blamed.we can see it from the angle of the government, parents,we   the youth .....And this the situation that they are not ready to employ outsiders but only family members.thus the employment system in Ghana nowadays what percentage do u think after submitting their Ideas to this institutions.which this institutions are  willing to support. We didn't cause it bra.will u sit there for your family members or friends to be part of the unemployed in this hard economy.

Rosemary: The educational system created by the government and we the graduates are both to be blamed For u to graduate and join an unemployed association is wrong in the first place.. Very discouraging... We should set our minds on other possibilities aside the already made jobs that way wen u come out u will have other alternatives Lets not look only at the government.. So if dose decision makers ain't doing it write what can we  as graduates or individuals do
U say Ghanaian leaders r failing but who gave them the mandate? It's us... Research in Ghana parliament says some of the people there that's Mp's can't even speak proper English, write among others how do we expect such people to think global, and do what is expected of them... We should blame our self's and start doing the right things from our own corner Wat can I as a graduate do after school aside already made jobs? Giving your idea to institutions ain't the best in my opinion...we can do something in groups or teams... Thus people we were in class with.. If I have an idea and my mates can see great tins coming out of it in the near future they can join me start it wit each of us our Lil capital we all can contribute With Little things in our corner I mean the ideas we have, we can introduce it from were we find ourselves as in where we live (i love this one... like personally)

Loretta: We all understand that we can best reduce unemployment by creating our own jobs..being self employed..
But in a country like ours where cost of starting any business is so high??how do unemployed do this?
In a country where there are so many stringent rules when starting something meaningful or even getting loans as capital how do people cope?
Do we blame the unemployed for not being able to save enough to start something? When you barely have enough to eat how do you save?
And let's not forget, even getting vocational training is expensive..not to talk of the equipment..
Setting up businesses must be encouraged by both the govt and private institutions by giving financial assistance..
Now its not that the youth are obsessed with white color jobs..the youth are willing but with little or no assistance.
The govt has started this course..but I believe the private sectors should also put in more to push this course.

Rafael: To me, every stakeholder in this is to *blame*
Why do I say this ??

1. Government is not creating enough job opportunities
2. Our Education System gives only Theoretical Skills
3. The Youth always want to work in their Area of Study, so they are always bent on finding jobs in that field
4. Society would also have a piece of the Blame Cake for voting Incompetent people into power
5. Parents won't be left out. They don't are always the decision makers when it comes to anything relating to their children no matter how old they may be.    loll textbook style

Thelma: I'll blame society
We all form part of the society
From we as individuals, to the government, to our schools
The society does not create the right environment conducive for creating jobs
We can only create jobs from what is inside of us, our talents
Here lies the case where society does not create the right avenues for nurturing such talents and what else? Our parents also impose their unfulfilled dreams on us and per our tradition, we have no say
We go to school and the educational system developed by the government is nothing to write home about
By the end of say our first degree, if government does not give us job opportunities to fulfill our parents' unfulfilled dreams, we can absolutely do nothing because the talents we could have used to create our own jobs have become dormant! okk so she blames society.. lets move on

Lawrence: Honestly It is generally expected that unemployment rate decreases with the level of education. However, in Ghana, well-educated groups are faced with high unemployment.
Graduate unemployment has been a national issue in many countries across the globe, particularly in developing economies. More graduates are being produced and they enter the job market as new job seekers each year. However, transition from school to work is more often than not unsuccessful since most people end up either underemployed or unemployed.

Richard: And not forgetting one thing. In Ghana, its who u know. Cos no\o one would watch a family member to be unemployed whiles he or she can Link the person in an institution he finds him/herself to be in. He would employ the person with maybe a low class cert. whiles the good graduate would be at home suffering from Ejuma aka JOb. At times what pains me the more is that the persons course may not be fit for the work assigned to him/ her. Example; I know a friend who studied Forestry in KNUST but is now a teller in one of the renowned banks in Ghana  loll Really? then he get serious links

Alex: I also think that going on retirement early( like fifty instead of sixty) the youth can get the chance of employment. All channels down to making the necessary polices by the government The systems don't work Because people are over 60 and are still working 'cause nobody is there to check   you have a point there bro

Machintosh: People like Kwame Despite is really helping this country to bring  down youth unemployment  by creating more jobs....
Even though others like Dr. Paa Kwesi Indume is also helping....  But I think his help is not enough
In the sense that.... How can you keep  spending millions on political campaigns when u surely know you ll lose...   People vote and you  the scores with your parties as have 2 n 3 votes n u still keep campaigning....

And there you have it! thats just a few of the things that the youth had to say. Watch out for the next episode of  A DATE WITH FORMAL this Wednesday.
